All currently enrolled students on the honor roll will be reviewed for a merit award, and do not need to submit a scholarship application. Merit scholarships are limited in number and are only awarded to a select few. All scholarships are renewable for each year a returning student is enrolled in good standing.
Mertie Willigar Buckman ‘22 Scholarship for Young Women
The Mertie Buckman Scholarship is awarded each year to one young woman who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and outstanding performance in the component areas of the School's “+5 Program” -- team athletics, art and culture, community service, outdoor experience and leadership. The recipient of this award must demonstrate exemplary character, honor and integrity. The scholarship may be granted to either a new candidate for admission or a returning student.
The Howard R. Dobbie ‘31 Scholarship
The Dobbie Scholarship is awarded each year to one international student or a student of color who would otherwise not be able to attend Tilton School.
Bradford W. Gile ‘61 Scholarship Fund
The Bradford W. Gile Scholarship is awarded each year to one student with need from a community adjacent to Tilton who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement. The recipient of this award must demonstrate exemplary character, honor and integrity and should demonstrate leadership and participation in three areas of student/campus life. To maintain this scholarship the recipient must achieve academic honor roll status by the end of their 10th grade year. The scholarship may be granted to either a new candidate for admission or a returning student.
Herbert B. Moore Scholars Program
The Herbert B. Moore Scholars Program rewards a select group of students who have an established record of academic and co-curricular accomplishment and who demonstrate the potential for continued academic achievement and school leadership.
P.J. Shaughnessy ‘02 Scholarship
The Shaughnessy Scholarship is presented each year to one student who exhibits a love of athletics, seriousness of academic purpose and warmth of personality.
The Governor Carlton Skinner ‘30 and Solange Skinner Fellowship
The Skinner Fellowship will provide financial assistance to a student or students who exhibit a consistent sense of personal integrity, loyalty, curiosity and who have demonstrated a commitment to fight injustice in all its forms.
