2010 New England Class C Finalists
The Tilton School Girls Varsity Basketball Team plays in one of the most challenging leagues in New England Prep School basketball, Northern New England's Lakes Region League. We are the smallest school in our league, in terms of the number of girls in our School, but have managed to prove ourselves against a more competitive and challenging schedule. This year will be our third year in the Class C division and we are looking to improve upon a final record from 2009-2010, which included 19 wins, a Lakes Region Championship, and a loss in the New England Class C Championship game.
Winning championships, however, is just a small part of being a Ram. Tilton’s student-athletes work hard to develop the academic and life skills essential to success in college and in life beyond school -- sportsmanship, cooperation, leadership, respect and personal responsibility. Together, our student-athletes, parents, coaches and teachers build strong partnerships and a wonderful sense of community.
Our coaching staff, including assistants Eric O’Neil and Jim Jones, represents many years of coaching experience and basketball knowledge. Our goal as coaches is focused on instilling the skills, discipline, and self-confidence necessary to become both a successful student and athlete. Beginning my second season as Head Coach, I am focused and determined to bring a consistent message, plan, and energy day in and day out. Prior to being named Head Coach at Tilton School, I spent four years coaching collegiate women’s basketball. That experience has allowed me to develop into a confident leader, priding myself on work ethic, toughness, and unity.
The Girls Basketball program is continuing to build upon the already rich tradition and success of athletics and girls basketball at Tilton School. A tradition that includes winning five Lakes Region Championships, most recently in 2010, and four New England Prep School Championships in the last ten years.
