The school employs a full time counselor, Ms. Angela Juurlink, who is a licensed clinical mental health counselor. Angela is on campus five days a week as well as by appointment. She is also available for more urgent situations via the officer of the day. Angela can be contacted at the Health Center by calling 603.286.1760 and via e-mail at ajuurlink@tiltonschool.org.
Angela sees individual students on a ‘drop-in’ basis or by appointment. She works with a variety of students as a trainer, facilitator and trouble-shooter. Angela is generally available for short-term counseling and coordinates long-term support with our visiting licensed counselors. There are no fees assessed to individual students by any service she provides.
In addition, for the benefit and convenience of students, the school provides on-campus access to a number of private counselors, therapists and educational testing specialists who meet with individual students for appointments on campus. It is the responsibility of families to make financial arrangements for long-term private counseling or for psycho-educational testing with individual service providers. Questions, arrangements and initial contact with private counselors should be made through Angela Juurlink. She participates as a member of the Deans Team, a small group of student services administrators who meet weekly to monitor and support student learning, health and personal wellness. General information on counseling or student support services is available from any of the following; Margaret Allen, Academic Dean, Rick Johnson, Dean of Student Life, Steve Poirot, Assistant Head of School. |
