In addition to theater classes, each year the curtain opens on three theater productions in Rome Theater of Hamilton Hall.  The fall and winter productions are produced as part of our afternoon activity offering and are overseen by our Theater Director and his assistant.  The spring production is typically directed by an upperclass student, normally in the spring of his/her senior year, as the culmination of one’s theater experience at Tilton. Recent productions include Jerry & Tom, Twelfth Night, and the Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Course Highlight - Theater Workshop

In this two-semester sequence class, students explore all aspects of the creative process in the theater arts.  They will learn to write, perform, design, direct, and produce their own productions.  Time is spent learning and practicing a range of acting techniques and developing confidence with stage presence, voice, gesture, and character projection.  For students intending to major in the Performing Arts in college, class time may be used as needed to prepare for college and theater auditions.
