Tilton Arts Fest 2018: Relishing Creativity on The Hill

Sarah O'Neill
For the second year in a row, the Tilton School community came together to celebrate the arts and the many creative talents of our peers during Arts Fest. This event started with Remy Steevensz, a well loved, immensely talented and deeply missed faculty member.
Remy joined Tilton School in 2005 as a graphic design teacher and became a dorm head, with husband John Elfring. Their door was always open even when not on duty, and Remy made an immeasurable impact on her advisees, fellow faculty members, and everyone she came into contact with.

Remy organized the first Arts Fest which started in the spring of 2017 as a celebration of visual and performing arts where both faculty and students can demonstrate their talents, participate in workshops, and try new activities they may not have been exposed to otherwise. Remy would not get to see the first Arts Fest come to fruition. Remy passed away suddenly in April of 2017 after over 10 years of loving Tilton School.

This year, Arts Fest continues to celebrate the arts with live musical and dance performances, an opportunity to throw clay on the pottery wheel, a viewing of student made films and much more. Arts Fest allows us to branch out and recognize talents - some that we’ve been watching develop all along, and some that we are seeing for the very first time!

Special thanks to: Eric O'Neil, Art Department Chair; Tyler Goodwin, Art Teacher; and Amy Morse P'21, Music Teacher
