2018 Fall Family Weekend Round Up

Sarah A. O'Neill
Tilton School Fall Family Weekend is a campus-wide favorite. Parents get to witness their children at home on the Hill, students rejoice in being with their families, and faculty/staff enjoy meeting parents, sometimes for the first time. We believe this to be a very important part of the year.
As independent school parents, many do not get the day-to-day details about their child's experiences away from home. The weekend provided families many wonderful moments of insight into their students’ life at Tilton. To our delight, over 200 families joined us for Fall Family Weekend 2018!
Family arrival and registration began on Thursday afternoon followed by student/parent/teacher and college counseling conferences, pausing for a dinner break in Beaumont Dining Hall.

Friday brought on a full day of conferences and class observations, with the school store open throughout the day for those who needed to stock up on Tilton School swag. Parents joined us at School Meeting and later in the day were invited to observe afternoon programming, which included athletic practices and club activities. Tilton Varsity Field Hockey played St. Paul’s School on Burch Field turf at 5:30 p.m., followed by a parent social at Head of School Peter Saliba’s house.

Closing out Fall Family Weekend was a Saturday filled with home games and tailgating. The Tilton Parents’ Association manned the grill and provided an impressive display of treats at the Tilton Fields where the school spirit was overflowing. Varsity Field Hockey played Holderness on Burch Field at 1:30 p.m., while the following games happened down at Tilton Fields:

2 p.m. BV Soccer vs Worcester
2:30 p.m. Boys’ JV Soccer vs. KUA
3 p.m. GV Soccer vs. Cushing
3:45 p.m. Varsity Football vs. Hyde School

Varsity Football snatched their first victory of the season over Hyde School! Families were accompanied by students, faculty, staff, alumni and fellow Tilton fans for a fun-filled day of cheering on the RAMS. Thank you to everyone who made Fall Family Weekend possible - can’t wait for next year!
