Fall Open House 2018

On Saturday, October 27, over 30 families visited Tilton School as part of our Fall Open House. Campus events such as this give prospective families an in-depth look at life at Tilton School. This includes first-hand information about academic classes, residential life, and athletics. Future RAMs had the opportunity to meet the faculty and coaches whose commitment and passion for working with students is at the heart of the Tilton experience.
A typical Open House day begins with informational meetings from select coaches. For the most recent event, students interested in ice hockey met with coaches Brooks McQuade (Boys Varsity) and Ben Tefft (Girls Varsity). Once the official Open House began and families registered, they were treated to a campus tour given by Admission Ambassadors. This included visiting all athletic facilities, academic buildings, art spaces, and dormitories. Tours included a visit to the Head of School’s home, where Head of School Peter Saliba made an introduction.
Prospective students ignited their passion for lifelong learning by participating in an interactive learning experience with current students. Parents had the chance to discover how Tilton creates pathways to their children’s potential during this time when a panel of faculty/staff answered parent questions, providing unparalleled insight into the overall curriculum and community. The morning concluded in the dining hall, where families shared a meal with Tilton faculty, current students and current parents.
"A critical part of choosing a school is the campus visit. An Open House provides prospective students and parents with a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into a school’s program, culture and people, going well beyond what can be found on a website," says Candance Landroche, Tilton's Director of Admissions. "We encourage participants who liked what they learned at Open House to return to campus for an interview and personalized visit tailored to the student’s interests. We welcome the chance to hear each student’s unique story and share more about why we believe in the power of potential."
Tilton’s next on-campus event will be an introduction to the 9th-grade FORGE Program, taking place on November 12th. More info and registration HERE. You can also inquire and schedule a tour at any time!
