Tilton’s girls' basketball team plays in one of the most challenging leagues in New England Prep School basketball, NEPSAC’s Class B. Each year Tilton is committed to building upon an already rich tradition of Tilton girls' basketball - a tradition that includes winning ten Lakes Region championships, including eight consecutive championships from 2010-2017, and five New England Championships during the past seven seasons. The program is based around hard-work, accountability, integrity, and selflessness. Players push each other to achieve their goals in the classroom and on the court.
In addition to team accomplishments, players have also found individual success, including 32 NEPSAC All-Stars in the past eight seasons. Further, 21 student-athletes have gone on to play collegiate basketball during the past seven seasons, including 11 players at the Division I level.
With yet another New England Class B Championship under her belt, Tara Brisson enters her ninth season at the helm of the Rams for the 2017-2018 season. In her first eight years as head coach, Brisson has led the Rams to eight consecutive Lakes Region Championship titles and eight straight appearances in the NEPSAC Championship, winning Class C in 2011 and Class B in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Prior to being named head coach at Tilton School, Brisson spent two years coaching collegiate women’s basketball at Saint Anselm College where her responsibilities included coordinating on- and off-season strength and conditioning programs, community service initiatives and recruiting prospective student-athletes. From 2005-2007, Brisson coached at Williams College, helping the team advance to the NCAA Tournament both years, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2006. She was a three-time Academic All-American at Hobart and William Smith College, where she reached the Sweet 16 of the Division III tournament. Brisson is also in her fourth year as athletic director for Tilton School.
